  8. WEB SITE ACCOLADES
  9. -------------------
  10. The SBI WEB site earned a 3 STAR rating by the McKinley Group who 
  11. runs the Megellan WEB Crawler, and a NetGuide 4 STAR rating!
  12. So far, I've recieved nothing but good comments on the new WEB
  13. design.

  15. The next addition will probably be a BBS search engine!

  18. SBI "DEAD" BBS PURGING IN PROGRESS
  19. ----------------------------------
  20. Since the January listing, almost 100 BBSs have been dropped from the
  21. SBI list.  BBSs were dropped due to any or all of the following:
  22.  
  23. 1. Invalid domain name - if a domain name is no longer registered, and
  24.    we can't get to the site via IP, the site is immediately dropped.
  25.  
  26. 2. Unreachable IP address - if after many tries over many weeks we cannot 
  27.    seem to connect to the site, it's dropped.
  28.  
  29. 3. Could not login - if we get to a site, get a login, but cannot find a 
  30.    way to register as a new user, the site is immediately dropped.
  31.  
  32. If your BBS is operational, and you find your BBS has been dropped, then 
  33. the information we had on file was clearly not accurate.  Just resubmit
  34. your info, and you'll get back on the list.

  36. ALL SYSOP ARE STRONGLY URGED TO VERIFY EACH MONTH THAT THEIR SBI 
  37. INFORMATION IS ACCURATE AND COMPLETE

  40. NETTERM DATA FILE NOW AVAILABLE

  42. As of Netterm version 2.8, the SBI list is available as an external
  43. dialing directory.  Netterm is simply the BEST telnet client available -
  44. and now you can telnet to ALL the SBI BBSs from one easy phone book!
  45. Get the most recent copy of Neterm and the SBI Phone book from the SBI
  46. home page (http://dkeep.com/sbi.htm).

  63. SBI LIST - IN BOOK FORM!

  65. I've recently signed an agreement with Manning Publications and
  66. Prentiss-Hall, Inc. to include the SBI list in an upcoming Internet 
  67. book about Internet BBSs.  This is GREAT way to further promote this 
  68. budding industry.  I have contacted all SBI sysops for additional
  69. informatoin -- if you were NOT contacted, then I didn't have a valid
  70. sysop email address.  Either visit the WEB page, or drop me a note, and
  71. I will send you out a sysop survey.  All Internet BBSs with complete 
  72. and accurate information will most likely be listed in the book, and 
  73. a good number will be featured in some additional detail.  Visit the

  77. SYSTEM REGISTRATION/UPDATE FORM ON THE WEB
  78. ----------------------------------------------
  79. With a LOT of help from the good people at Concentric Research (CHRIS),
  80. and specifically  Patrick Doyle at CRIS, sysops are now able to
  81. submit new or updated system information directly via the WEB.  In fact, 
  82. this is actually the BEST way to make sure all your information is included
  83. in future lists.  All you need is a "forms compatible" WEB browser (most 
  84. are) and goto: http://dkeep.com/sbi.htm
